If one thing’s for sure, it’s that Kate Middleton has one of the greatest shoe collections of all time. We’ve seen the royal don almost every shoe under the sun, each adding an element of elegance to her perfectly-executed outfits.
But, her latest footwear choice was totally unexpected. The Duchess of Cambridge shocked royal fans by wearing a pair of combat boots during her recent visit to King Henry’s Walk Garden. Don’t get us wrong, her Chloé Leather-Trimmed Suede Ankle Boots are gorgeous, but they’re a surprisingly edgy and casual choice for Middleton.

In fact, some royal spectators even pointed out that it goes against Queen Elizabeth’s royal wardrobe protocol. The Queen prefers to see women of the royal family in closed-toe heels and discourages them from wearing flats, especially when they’re carrying out their royal duties.
Royal family analysts and fashionistas have also noticed that Middleton’s new sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, has been influencing her fashion choices lately. The mom of three has been opting for more casual and relaxed pieces since Markle has been crowned the Duchess of Sussex.
