Don’t expect Melania Trump to speak out about the verdict of husband Donald Trump’s recent sexual abuse lawsuit that was filed against him by former Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll.

On Tuesday, May 9th, a jury found the 76-year-old twice-impeached former president liable for sexual abuse and defamation, and he was ordered to pay Carroll around $5M in damages – $2M for sexual abuse and nearly $3M for defamation. However, Melania, 53, will be keeping her usual dignified silence – as well as her distance – following the verdict, which doesn’t seem to come as a surprise to anyone.

Melania Trump Will Stay Below The Radar Following Donald Trump's Sexual Abuse Verdict

An insider reportedly told People that the former First Lady was "unhappy" with the verdict, but won't be addressing it in public. Melania has tried to keep to herself lately, and was noticeably absent at her husband's arraignment in court this April, nor has she been seen at any of his campaign events since he announced his re-election bid in November 2022.

"Melania knows who her husband is and will stay below the radar on this as she usually does," the insider said, adding, "She rarely speaks out on his scandals. She turns her head the other way and moves on with her life." The insider went on to say that, akin to the recently-indicted former president's hush money payments to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels in 2016, this sexual abuse lawsuit "is embarrassing for her and for her family, but she has a good life and doesn't want to rock the boat." They added: "Her whole family has had a better life thanks to her marriage to Donald."

Although the source doesn’t think that Melania will have anything to say about this verdict in public, she did shock people by showing some support for her husband's re-election bid in a Fox News interview, saying: "My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again."

Sources Expect Melania Trump To 'Weather The Storm' And Focus On Her Son

Despite being "unhappy" with the verdict, the insider said that Melania wasn’t actually too surprised by it, adding, "It shouldn't be such a huge surprise for her," while going on to say she will simply "weather the storm as she has done in the past." The insider also referenced her and Donald Trump's 17-year-old son Barron Trump, adding, "She has a son and his protection is her most important job."

Trump reportedly plans to appeal the decision, but the insider seems to think it won't affect Melania either way. "It's easy for her husband to say it was a witch hunt, but Melania will proceed with her life and move on," the source concluded.
