Because of that, it's so important to do extensive research on things like florists, photographers, and transportation services. You don't want to be unpleasantly surprised on your big day thanks to wilted flowers, late photographers, or bad drivers. You can prevent all of that by making extra time to research.
You Don't Accommodate Your Guests
If you're travelling for your wedding then it's likely your wedding party and guests are going long distances for you too. Make sure there are plenty of hotel options near your reception venue and block off rooms for your guests. Also remember to keep prices low on hotel rooms since your guests will already be spending money on travel expenses.
You Don't Accept Help From Others
An out-of-state wedding may mean that you need more help when planning, and that could mean relying on your mom, best friend, or even a wedding planner. Annette Hoegner of Classic Touch Events tells Refinery 29 that brides should give away some of the tasks they need to get done before their big day. "Delegate! Even if you don't have a wedding planner (which I highly recommend), assign someone you can trust to handle the details," Annette says.
You Don't Keep Your Own Expenses In Mind
Kayle Walker of Petal & Bean Floral & Event Planning tells Brides that it's crucial to set a budget, which especially applies for out-of-state weddings. "Make a list of the things you want, then prioritize them to figure out where the majority of the money will go," Kayle says. Setting a budget will prevent your expenses from getting out of hand.
