Prince Harry's Friends Are Reportedly 'Disgusted' By His Behavior
According to the Daily Mail's royal editor Rebecca English, who appeared on a recent episode of Palace Confidential, Prince Harry's friends in the U.K. are "disgusted" with the way he has acted since leaving the country, and are also unhappy they he hasn’t appeared to show them the same loyalty they have previously showed him. And Prince Harry skipping the wedding of one of his oldest and closest friends seems to be the cherry on top!
If you'll recall, Prince Harry chose to skip Jack Mann's wedding to Isabella Clark at St. Peter’s Church in Suffolk, England earlier this month, which was quite a shocking decision as Prince Harry, as per his memoir, regarded Jack as his "real" best man, not his brother Prince William.
"We don’t know if Jack Mann’s become estranged from Harry or not," royal editor Richard Eden, who also appeared on the program, said. "But in Harry’s memoirs, at the end he talks about how he was 'chastised,' in his words, after the [Oprah] interview by some of his closest friends. He’s done a lot of damage to those old relationships."
Prince Harry's Friends Were Also Reportedly 'Very Hurt' By His Memoir 'Spare'
And speaking of his bombshell memoir Spare, English also noted how his friends were "very hurt" by some of the things he wrote in it. Perhaps one of Prince Harry's confessions that his military friends might be the most upset about is related to him revealing his "kill count" from his army days, which was supposed to be a closely-guarded secret.
Skipping his good friend's wedding and revealing his kill count are only the beginning, as his friends have reportedly been upset with his behavior for many years now. "From what I hear there are a lot of people who are genuinely disgusted by what he’s done since leaving the royal family," English revealed. "They feel very hurt by some of the revelations that he’s made. As they were growing up William and Harry created a very close-knit circle of friends around each other."
"Those friends understood 'loyalty' and have shown that to Prince Harry time and time again," she continued. "There was almost a kind of omertà between them. There are people who said: 'We’ve been very loyal to him over the years and we don’t feel that loyalty’s been repaid.'"
