Perhaps fans were onto something when they speculated that there may be trouble in paradise for the new Prince and Princess of Wales, as new reports have come out revealing that Prince William allegedly told his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, that he had doubts about Kate Middleton before they got married over ten years ago. *Omg!*

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Prince William, now 40, reportedly asked the Queen and his father, King Charles III, for some relationship advice during the Christmas period of 2006 when he was 25 years old, telling them that he was questioning his future with Kate. Interestingly, he and Kate, now also 40, went their separate ways shortly after, which has made fans wonder what his grandmother and father could have said to him!

"William had been having second thoughts and sat down with his father and his grandmother to have a frank discussion about his future with Kate," Nicholl told The Mirror. "Both advised him not to hurry into anything," she added.

However, both William and the rest of the palace quickly realized that Kate was a "no brainer" for life with the royal family, especially because of the way she handled herself during her and William's brief break-up, which they have both spoken about since getting back together.

"We were both very young, we were both finding ourselves and being different characters," Prince William previously said when talking about the brief 2007 split. "It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up, so it was just a bit of space and it worked out for the better," he added at the time.

Kate also said that, despite not being "very happy" about the split initially, she later came to appreciate it and the lessons it taught her. "You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn’t realized," she reflected. "I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you’re younger. I really valued that time for me as well, although I didn’t think it at the time." It seems like it all worked out for the best, as the new Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot in a glorious royal wedding in 2011, and are parents to three beautiful children – Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.
