1. High-Protein Edible Cookie Dough Recipe

TikTok creator Claire Hodgins (@clairehodginss), who boasts over 430K followers on the app and creates healthy high-protein recipes, shared a high protein cookie dough recipe that is loaded with 30g of protein.

To make this delicious high-protein treat, Hodgins starts by blending oats into oat flour in her nutribullet. She then adds that to a bowl with vanilla protein powder, your choice of sweetener, baking soda, and salt. Mix those ingredients and then add some milk. Once you get a thick cookie dough consistency, stir in chocolate chips and that’s it!

Oats are a rich source of fiber, which promotes a feeling of fullness and helps control appetite. The inclusion of oat flour in the recipe adds a complex carbohydrate element that is digested more slowly, providing sustained energy and reducing the likelihood of energy crashes, which can contribute to overeating.

2. Wonton Wrapper Mozzarella Sticks

MaKayla Thomas, a viral nutrition specialist, weight loss coach, and TikTok content creator, has a surprising recipe for “high protein” and low-calorie mozzarella sticks that helped her lose 55 pounds post-partum. While they may not be the most authentic version of the Italian appetizer, they certainly help satisfy the craving for the friend, salty snack, all while pushing you closer to your weight loss goals.

The weight loss coach starts making her low-calorie mozzarella sticks with an ingredient that you may not have been expecting: wonton wrappers! According to her video’s caption, a serving of three wonton wrappers only contains 50 calories, making them a lower-calorie option than thick coatings of breadcrumbs that mozzarella sticks are usually made out of.

She places half of one light mozzarella stick (which can contain up to 8 garms of protein) into each wonton wrapper. As soon as the nutrition specialist’s sticks are assembled, she “mists” them with a cooking oil before sticking them in a 400-degree air-fryer for five to six minutes. Once they’re crunchy, crispy, and a little golden brown, she sprinkles a bit of Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese to give them that classic mozzarella stick taste.

Each mozzarella stick contains around 40 calories, which means that you could eat six of them for around 240 calories, making them a high-volume, low-calorie snack that’s great for weight loss. Additionally, each stick contains around 3 grams of protein, so eating a plate of them can help you meet your protein and overall weight loss goals.

3. Black Bean Brownies

By substituting traditional flour with black beans, these brownies become a rich source of plant-based protein and fiber. The high protein content not only aids in muscle maintenance but also contributes to a sense of fullness, assisting in weight loss by reducing overall calorie intake. Additionally, the fiber content helps regulate blood sugar levels and promotes digestive health.

"Black beans are surprisingly great in brownies, offering a dense, fudgy texture. They are high in protein and fiber, which contribute to weight loss by keeping you fuller for longer and stabilizing blood sugar levels. Use pureed black beans as the base for brownies instead of flour. Combine with cocoa powder, a sweetener of your choice, and eggs," Dr. Sharmela Devi G, a registered dietitian nutritionist, highlights.

4. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Bites

If you're looking for a way to satisfy your sweet tooth while getting a boost of protein, these chocolate peanut butter cheesecake bites are basically the best of both worlds. The no-bake recipe from Nutritionist Mom combines chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and cream cheese for a creamy, decadent-tasting treat that doesn't require turning on the oven.

To make the peanut butter layer, combine chocolate protein powder, coconut flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, sweetener, milk, and creamy peanut butter. Divide the mixture between muffin cups, pressing it down into the bottom. Then, make the cheesecake layer by mixing Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, sweetener, cream cheese, and a little milk. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the peanut butter layer and freeze for about 20 to 30 minutes until firm.

For an optional finishing touch, melt some dark chocolate and peanut butter and drizzle them over the bites before returning them to the freezer. Each bite contains about 134 calories and 14 grams of protein before the optional toppings, according to the original recipe, making these a sweet snack that can also help you get more protein into your diet.

5. Protein-Packed Smoothie Bowl

A wholesome smoothie bowl typically blends together a variety of ingredients, including protein-rich sources like Greek yogurt, protein powder, and nut butter, combined with an array of colorful fruits and wholesome toppings like granola and seeds. The high protein content in the smoothie base not only adds a creamy texture but also promotes satiety, helping to control appetite and reduce overall calorie intake. The nutrient density of the smoothie bowl, coupled with the metabolism-boosting properties of protein, makes it a valuable addition to a weight-loss regimen.

Proteins take longer to digest compared to carbohydrates, which means they are broken down and absorbed more slowly in the body. This slower digestion helps prevent rapid spikes in blood sugar levels after consuming a meal or snack.

"Smoothie bowls can be a satisfying way to end a meal or as a snack. Protein helps keep you full, and fruits provide nutrients and fiber, aiding in healthy digestion and weight loss. Blend a protein-rich ingredient like Greek yogurt or a scoop of protein powder with frozen fruits. Serve in a bowl and top with sliced fruit, nuts, or seeds," Dr. Devi notes.
