Savannah Guthrie Attends The US Open In A Floral Dress

One of the biggest events of the summer, the US Open, has been in full swing over the last week, with not only fellow athletes stepping out to watch matches, but also celebrities of all calibers.

One of the star viewers was the iconic television personality, marking another one of her rare red carpet appearances since the disappearance of her mom, Nancy, from her home in Arizona. Despite her personal struggles, Savannah put on a brave face on August 25th, smiling for photographers and posing in a summertime-coded dress before watching the matches. She wore a black, figure-hugging midi dress that was sleeveless and included thick straps. The black fabric was contrasted with multi-colored flowers, making it the ideal dress for a daytime event.

She had her highlighted blonde hair worn in a voluminous half-up, half-down hairstyle and wore layered jewelry, including gold bangle bracelets and layered gold necklaces, including one with a heart-shaped pendant. She completed the look with beige high heels with a clear-colored strap and a black pedicure that coordinated with her dress.

Social Media Users React To Savannah's Look & 'Thin' Appearance

Seeing the 54-year-old show host at the infamous tennis event was a surprise for some of her fans, especially considering all of the personal things she's dealing with.

Following her mom's tragic and unexpected disappearance and supposed kidnapping earlier this year, Savannah and her other family members have been pleading for her return via law enforcement channels and social media. In various interviews, she's opened up about how painful the entire experience has been, especially given all of the signs that pointed to abduction, a series of ransom notes, and a frustrating lack of updates in the case. She returned to working at Today in early April, but has taken a handful of brief breaks, likely to take care of her mental health and family.

After seeing her pose on the red carpet at the US Open, fans expressed concerns for her on various social media platforms. Not only were they worried about her mental health, but her physical health as well, noting that she was looking 'thinner' than usual.

"I feel so bad for her and her family," commented a fan on Instagram. "She looks really thin too, probably from the stress of it all. So sad."

"She looks tired and haggard," wrote a user. "Poor lady."

"What a strong woman, my god, to keep going and putting a smile on her face despite no answers, no ending to her nightmare," a fan wrote. "Incredible strength."

"She is so very brave," echoed another.
