Following Dolly Parton’s death, Donald Trump posted a tribute to his Truth Social account: an AI photo of him and the iconic singer and philanthropist. However, social media users didn’t take kindly to his post, pointing out that not only did he and Dolly Parton have very opposing views, but he also is actively defunding the charities she founded, not to mention using AI to falsely portray a relationship. Donald Trump Posts AI Photo With Dolly Parton
The post in question features an AI photo of Dolly Parton and Donald Trump strolling near the White House, with Dolly's arm linked with Trump's. In the photo, Dolly, dressed in her signature pink, smiles at Trump, who's looking off into the distance.
"This is a true loss for millions of people," he wrote on Truth Social. "There has never been anyone like her, and never will. In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a one week period beginning tonight at 6:00PM. Rest in Peace, Dolly! The world loves you."
However, users were quick to point out that Trump and his administration have actively defunded one of Dolly's biggest philanthropic endeavors, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, an initiative that gifts children under the age of 5 free books every month. She also publicly supported LGBTQ+ inclusion and racial equality, two positions Donald Trump has steered away from.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users did not react well to Trump's AI photo. "She HATED Trump," one person wrote on TikTok. "Seriously this is so disrespectful to her legacy."
"User AI to 'honor' someone after death, might just be the MOST disrespectful thing you can do to an ARTIST," said another.
"Dolly Parton's family should sue him," suggested another user.
"Dolly is probably turning in her grave because of this!" posted the next.
"This is disgusting," agreed another, and the next said, "Very disturbing."
"Mind you, she despised him," pointed out another user.
"Posting this while defunding her programs for children btw," a final user said.
