The modeling prodigy has been busy promoting The Shards, the new FX thriller based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same name. Set in Los Angeles in the 1980s, the series follows a group of privileged high school students whose world is turned upside down when a mysterious new student arrives as a serial killer begins targeting teenagers. She stars as Susan Reynolds, one of the members of the social circle at the center of the story.
During the New York leg of the series' press tour, Kaia embraced a series of polished, figure-hugging looks that fit her usual minimalistic aesthetic. For the New York premiere of the show, she wore a shining Valentino gown, followed by little black dresses for television show interviews and an after-party.
In between her press events, she attended the U.S. Open, where she once again opted for a little black dress. She wore a Yana Matkivski Donna dress, which featured a corset-inspired bodice and a pencil skirt, creating a sleek, sculptural look. The vintage-looking design also featured a low back, giving the otherwise simple dress a subtle touch of drama. Kaia finished off the ensemble with retro-looking, oversized sunglasses, while carrying a small striped Fendi bag. The accessories added a '90s feel to the outfit while keeping focus on the black dress.

While plenty of fans have been cheering the 24-year-old on throughout The Shards press tour and praising her various fashion choices, others have focused on her appearance in recent photos. Some social media users have expressed concern about how thin she looks these days, particularly in the form-fitting outfits she wore during her recent New York outings.
The concerns come shortly after Kaia spoke candidly about her history with "disordered eating" in a Vogue interview, where she mentioned the pressure she has felt surrounding her body, especially when being compared to her mother, Cindy Crawford.
"We're clearly in one of those cycles right now where people are very, very, very thin," she said. "As someone who's been thin most of my life, I've always been compared against my mom... I'm so jealous of my mom's body... I've had disordered eating in my life. People are like, 'You look terrible,' and it doesn't exactly make you go, 'Oh, good. Let me get over this mental illness then!' Negativity has never saved someone's life."
Since she opened up about her past with disordered eating, fans have expressed worry for her on various platforms.
