As the Cannes Film Festival rolls on with its special events, celebrities are showing up dressed to the nines, and a few of the biggest women in the entertainment industry wear some sheer dresses that are extra eye-catching.
Nicole Kidman, Dakota Johnson, and Halle Berry are three women who chose to wear stunning sheer and chic dresses to the Kering Women In Motion Awards as a part of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera on May 18th, 2025. It seemed like there was a trend surrounding slightly sheer fabrics, which was a bit tantalizing, considering the Cannes Film Festival had to put out a more conservative policy for their red carpet dress code. Read more about the three powerful women and their gown choices below.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman was a notable figure at this year's Kering Women In Motion Awards, as she was honored with the Kering Women in Motion award for her work with other women in the entertainment industry. The coveted awards ceremony honors women of all ages around the world who work to recognize other women and their hard work in media.
The Babygirl actress is known for her stance on wanting to work with primarily female directors every 18 months and has worked on projects with 19 of them since 2017.
For the prestigious event, Nicole wore a sleeveless red lace gown with a turtleneck silhouette. The gorgeous red gown complimented her figure and tall frame and had a subtle mermaid shape at the end of the skirt. She wore her blonde hair down and straightened, and sported a dark-colored manicure. She let her dress do all of the talking and wore minimal jewelry, with a simple watch as a bracelet.

Dakota Johnson
The Madame Web actress has always been known for her lovely figure, and she truly showed it off at the Women In Motion event on Sunday, by wearing a sheer, sparkly dress from Gucci. Her silver gown twinkled as photographers took flashing pictures of her, and it looked like she was covered in diamonds.
The long dress had a halter top and complimented her figure, as it was curve-hugging, without being too tight. Like Nicole, the 35-year-old kept her accessories low-key but still wore some gorgeous dangling earrings. She had her dark brown hair put into an updo, with her shaggy bangs left down. Fans are keeping an eye on Dakota's red-carpet looks, especially as she continues attending events to promote her upcoming romance film, The Materialists.

Halle Berry
The Ocscar-winner also chose to wear a sparking sheer dress that was a bit similar to Dakota's at the Women In Motion awards, and she proved that she is still an "it" girl after her breakthrough in the 1990s. An important figure in the film industry, Halle made her presence known by arriving in a halter top, sequined, sparkly sheer gown from Gucci.
The dress had beaded embellishments covering the entire silhouette, which hugged the Catwoman star's incredible figure. She paired it with some classy diamond jewelry, including several stacked bracelets, dangling earrings, and eye-catching rings.
Her brown hair, which has blonde highlights, was in a bob cut and curled, adding a little extra va-va-voom to her already fabulous look. Who do you think was best dressed at the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards?
