What Stores Are Open On Christmas Eve? The Best Places To Do Last-Minute Shopping 2022

Need to grab a gift before Christmas Day or something to help you cook the big holiday meal? We’ve got you covered! We rounded up various stores, retailers and convenience chains that will be open for Christmas Eve 2022. Here’s what we know:

Retailers Open On Christmas Eve 2022

Department/ Clothing Stores:

Bed, Bath & Beyond: As reported by Good Housekeeping, these stores will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. across the US.

Big Lots: These stores will be open until 10 p.m., giving you plenty of time to shop!

Dillard’s: This store, as noted by the outlet, will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

DICK’S Sporting Goods: If you need last-minute athletic or camping gifts, you can grab them from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

JCPenney: Good Housekeeping writes that most JCPenney stores were open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve in 2021, so it’s safe to assume they’ll have a similar schedule this year

Kmart: Kmart’s hours usually remain the same, even on Christmas Eve, so you can shop from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Kohl’s: Kohl’s, as the publication adds, has been “known to have holiday shopping marathons where stores stay open 24/7 leading up to Christmas,” until they ultimately close their doors around 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Macy’s: When looking at previous years’ hours, GH reports that most Macy’s locations open early on Christmas Eve and then close around 6 p.m.

Old Navy: While it depends on the store location, many Old Navy stores were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve last year, and will follow tradition this year.

Sears: You can shop at your local Sears store from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the night before Christmas.

Target: On Christmas Eve in 2021, as GH adds, all Target stores opened at 7 a.m. and closed at either 10 p.m. or 11 p.m., depending on the location.

Walmart: While many Walmart locations are open 24/7 across the nation, GH points out that certain locations might close earlier on Christmas Eve and stay closed on Christmas.

Drugstores:

CVS: Most CVS stores will be open for their regular hours on Christmas Eve, but pharmacy hours will vary (so call your store to be sure!)

Tech:

Apple: Apple stores have remained open until at least 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve in the past, so heading there earlier rather than later is a good idea this week.

Best Buy: Most Best Buy locations have historically opened their stores from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the past. This year, you can also order online for in-store pickup on Christmas Eve, with orders usually ready in an hour. (Nice!)

GameStop: Last year, most of these video-game locations were open until 6 p.m., making this another great last-minute gift shopping option!

 

Grocery Stores:

ALDI: While store hours will vary, most ALDI locations will be open on Christmas Eve.

BJ's Wholesale Club: Most of these wholesale stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the big shopping day.

Costco: These wholesale stores will also be open, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Giant: All of these grocery store locations will close promptly at 7 p.m, and their pharmacies will close one hour earlier.

Harris Teeter: Most of these stores will be open, but will close early at 7 p.m.

Lidl: Most of these stores will also be open until 7 p.m.

Publix: All locations will be open for business until 7 p.m.

Safeway: Most stores will open their doors from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sam's Club: All locations will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
