It’s no secret that the morning is the best time to start on the right track with your healthy diet. There are plenty of fresh whole ingredients you can include in your breakfast to keep you feeling full and satisfied well into lunchtime, while also keeping excess calories and unwanted weight gain away from your waistline.

Luckily, healthy experts swear by and recommend many different weight loss tips and tricks that you can easily incorporate in your a.m. routine without breaking a sweat. One of our favorite weight loss hacks is choosing one particular drink to enjoy after you wrap up a yummy breakfast meal.

Right after you’ve enjoyed your protein-packed eggs and fresh fruit, turn back to the fridge and grab some water and whole lemons to hydrate and replenish your body. Drinking lemon water isone thing you should do every morning after breakfast for weight loss.

Drinking lemon juice in the morning is one of our go-to metabolism-boosting tricks and we’ll tell you why.

Naturally, lemon juice is a better drink alternative to many other sugary calorie-loaded beverages. Sweet lemon juice in water will leave you feeling refreshed and perfectly hydrated. Choosing lemon water over many other beverages is already a great way to avoid excess calories that many beverages like sodas and juices contain.

However, lemon juice has many more benefits than just being flavorful. According to Healthline, drinking lemon water may boost your metabolism, which is ideal for weight loss.  “Researchers suggest that good hydration enhances the function of mitochondria, a type of organelle found in cells that helps generate energy for the body,” Healthline’s website explains. “This leads to an increase in metabolism, which may lead to subsequent weight loss.”

The Cleveland Clinic further supports the idea that drinking lemon water can aid digestion and is weight loss-friendly if you continuously choose to drink lemon water over other sugary morning drinks like juices and lattes.
