Things are heating up at New Balance with their Heatloft performance collection, a modern take on cozy layers that combine lofted quilting with lightweight NB HEAT technology for pieces that have all of the warmth and none of the weight of your favorite comfy blanket. The airy Heatloft fabric captures body heat as it wicks moisture away, keeping you warm (and sweat-free) without bulky layers, but it’s the thoughtful style details and easy silhouettes that really take these looks beyond the living room routine for me.
If you’ve been searching for gear that keeps you warm and looks cool doing it, whether you’re couch to 5k or more lounge to lunch than laps, check out a few of our fave New Balance Heatloft pieces below:
I’m honestly obsessed with this Tunic’s take on the turtleneck—the high neck is cozy without being constricting, and the loose drape and side slash pockets let the chevron pattern of the quilted fabric take center stage. Some subtle gathering in the back streamlines the shape without restricting movement, and the length is perfect for leggings or layering. This might be one of the most versatile athleticwear tops I’ve seen in ages: in black, it gives understated fashion vibes that take it beyond fitness and into outfit of the day territory.
NB Heatloft Athletic Jacket in Oyster Pink
On the other end of the spectrum is the sporty Athletic Jacket, where a full-length zip (with a draft-blocking placket), hidden-entry zippered pockets, and thumb-holed sleeves are ideal for warm-up and recovery. The sea salt color combo stands out with timeless crisp white and contrasting black zipper and seams, but I’m partial to the oyster pink, where unexpected orange accents punch up the dreamy blush quilting for an on-trend look that feels fresh and ready for spring.
Heatloft Full Zip in Captain Blue
New Balance didn’t forget about the guy side of things. The men’s Heatloft Full Zip jacket has workouts in mind, with NB Dry and NB Heat technologies combining for sweat-wicking lightweight warmth and, bonus, an underarm gusset for extra breathability. Here the quilted look is less cuddly and more cool—I’m loving the subtle pop of the Captain Blue colorway. This jacket could go from the gym to date-night, no sweat.
The Heatloft Pant is a great example of an elevated basic that can take you anywhere. The jogger styling and cargo pockets are perfect for lounging, with enough stretch for easy movement. But here the Heatloft fabric not only brings technical capabilities, it also adds subtle style—the black on black quilting stops just below the knee for a nod to the moto pant while keeping things sleek everywhere else.
For loungewear that is ready for anything you throw at it and workout gear that is as comfortable as staying home, New Balance really brings the fire with their quilted Heatloft collection.
