Jenna Lyons Is Blasted For Painting Her Son’s Toenails Pink In A J.Crew Catalog

Our favorite creative director, J.Crew‘s Jenna Lyons, is under fire for a recently published J.Crew photo of herself and her son, Beckett,that was intended to be sweet…but has turned ugly. In the photo, her son’s toenails are painted pink, sand some people have a real problem with it…so much that it’s making international news. Who knew nail polish could be so political?

“Lucky for me I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink. Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.” So writes Jenna Lyons of the creative director’s “Saturday with Jenna” feature.

    This is news?! A mom and her son playing together!!! If there are people out there concerned about a mom who paints her sons toes pink, then what do they think about those moms who don’t spend anytime with their children?

    looks like she loves her son, he looks happy – I used to let my son play dress up -!!! he wore make up – I painted his nails – and my daughter dressed like a man, and colored her face with a black marker for a beard ! OH lord that was fun to get off!!! bottom line—- we were PLAYING

    I find it ironic that Caroline is talking about how these articles are making people “dummer.” Let me enlighten you. Dümmer is a municipality in the district of Ludwigslust, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. I don’t think people are becoming municipalities. I think the word you were trying to write is “dumber.” Maybe you’re right. You should probably go read articles on CNN.com or something.
