Angelina Jolie‘s long-rumored move away from the U.S. appears to be getting closer, but a new report claims the actress may not be making the transition with her six children by her side.

According to an insider, several of Jolie’s children have their own plans to remain in the U.S., a development that is reportedly leaving the actress feeling emotional as she prepares for a new chapter. The news doesn’t come long after smaller instances have hinted at her longing to move, from her publicly stating that she doesn’t “recognize” America anymore to her putting her Los Angeles home up for sale. Angelina Jolie's Children Reportedly Will Not Move To Europe With Her

For the past year, insiders have repeatedly claimed that the Salt actress has been preparing to leave the U.S. and spend more time living abroad.

The famous humanitarian has also been candid about her changing feelings toward the U.S. In September 2025, while attending the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain, she said, "I love my country, but at this time, I don't recognize my country," while discussing what she described as serious times and her worldview.

Now, a new report claims Angelina's plans could mean spending significant time away from her children. An insider told In Touch that her children would not be accompanying her, with Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne reportedly wanting to stay in Los Angeles while Maddox, Pax and Zahara are said to prefer the East Coast.

"The hard part is that most of her kids will not be coming with her," the source told the publication. The insider claimed she and ex-husband Brad Pitt's 20-year-old son, Shiloh, and 18-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne, "want to stay in L.A." Meanwhile, their three other children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, who are all over the age of 21, "all want to be on the East Coast."

Angelina Is 'Emotional' Following Her Children's Alleged Decision

While the Oscar-nominee is reportedly excited about starting a more European chapter of her life, the idea of being separated from her children is allegedly not sitting well with her.

According to the above insider, Angelina is happy that her children are building independent lives, but the distance is still expected to be a big, life-changing adjustment.

"She's happy that they're making their own lives and she will of course come back to the States to visit them," the source continued. "But it's still going to be a huge adjustment. She's very emotional about it."

The reports come shortly after the 51-year-old sold her longtime Los Feliz home, the historic Cecil B. DeMille estate, for a reported $24.75 million. With the sale and her plans to spend more time abroad, the actress appears to be moving closer to the major lifestyle change she has been discussing for years.
