Donald Trump And Melania Trump Reportedly 'Barely Speak' And 'Live Separate Lives' Amid Claims His Aide Natalie Harp Is 'Obsessed' With Him: 'Not In A Healthy Place'

Donald Trump and Melania Trump have once again been making headlines over the state of their marriage, as recent reports claim they “barely speak” following years of speculation that they live largely separate lives.

The reports come amid growing attention around Trump’s relationship with his executive assistant Natalie Harp, whose deeply personal letters to the president about her devotion to him were recently published in full.

Harp’s estranged brother has even described her devotion to Trump as an “unhealthy obsession,” while Trump biographer Michael Wolff has claimed that Harp’s presence has caused even more tension between the president and first lady. Keep reading for more info…

Natalie Harp Reportedly Causes Tension Between Donald And Melania Trump

Wolff previously alleged that the couple – who have been married since 2005 and share 20-year-old son Barron Trump – "barely speak" at the moment, while also claiming there's been a "secret power struggle" between Melania and Natalie since the 2024 presidential campaign.

He even alleged that Melania "would not show up if Harp was around," suggesting Harp's near-constant presence around the president may help explain why Melania was largely absent from her husband's 2024 presidential campaign, and also why she doesn't show up to many public appearances now either.

This may make sense to anyone who saw that viral video of Donald and Melania having what appeared to be an argument at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C., before Melania left and Harp joined the president in the booth. Things could be starting to add up!

Relationship Expert Thinks Donald And Melania Are 'Not In A Healthy Place' Following Natalie Harp's Letters Leaking

The alleged tension in Donald and Melania's marriage has come under even more scrutiny following the publication of Harp's personal letters to Trump. In one letter, she reportedly told the president: "You are all that matters to me." Her estranged brother, Preston Harp, spoke to CNN recently, and said she had an "unhealthy obsession" with the POTUS.

Relationship expert Gemma Logan has also weighed in, and told The Irish Star that Trump's marriage is likely "not in a healthy place," saying: "A marriage where two people are reportedly barely speaking is clearly not in a healthy place. Communication is the heartbeat of any long term relationship."

"When conversation becomes minimal, couples can start living parallel lives rather than a shared one," she went on, adding: "At that point, the question isn't simply whether they spend time together, but whether they still feel emotionally connected when they do."

Melania Trump Is Reportedly 'Relieved' By Natalie Harp's Presence

Despite Wolff's claims about tension between Melania and Harp, not everyone agrees that the first lady has a problem with her husband's executive assistant. In fact, according to celebrity journalist Rob Shuter, Melania is actually "relieved" that someone else is willing to be by Trump's side 24/7.

"Melania isn't jealous of Natalie – she's grateful for her," an insider told Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, which might have some weight to it given the many times Melania has appeared less-than-impressed while alongside her husband.

They added: "Donald demands constant attention, and Natalie genuinely seems to enjoy giving it to him. For Melania, that takes an enormous amount of pressure off."

Another insider went on to say that Harp "wants to be there for every meeting, every trip, every moment," while Melania would rather skip it all. "They want entirely different relationships with Donald, and that's exactly why this works."

Yet another source echoed this, adding: "Melania hates becoming part of somebody else's gossip, but she absolutely doesn't want Natalie gone. Why would she? Natalie handles the exhausting, around-the-clock Donald duty Melania has spent years avoiding."

Donald And Melania Trump Have Faced Years Of 'Separate Lives' Claims

We don't know what to believe when it comes to Melania's feelings about Harp, but reports claiming there is tension in their marriage long predate the controversy surrounding his aide, with a source previously telling People that the couple were "living separate lives" even before Trump's second presidency.

The first lady has maintained a low public profile throughout her husband's second term, reportedly spending much of her time at Trump Tower in Manhattan, where son Barron attends New York University, or at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

There have even been reports that the couple have separate rooms in the White House, and sleep in separate beds on Air Force One. In Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery, Gavin Newsom recalled seeing "two beds" in Trump's private quarters, "separated by more than a few feet."

Melania's reluctance to spend more time at the White House has been linked to everything from its ongoing refurbishments – which saw her private East Wing office demolished – to her desire to remain close to Barron. Wolff's claims about Harp certainly add another interesting layer to the story, though – especially after seeing that viral video from the Grand Prix…
