Donald Trump has weighed in on the horrific incident where a UK man was killed after sneaking into a UK zoo’s tiger enclosure, and he did so in a way internet users are finding ‘disrespectful.’
The president is facing backlash after sharing an AI-generated video of himself playing with a tiger on Truth Social, hours after posting real footage of a fatal tiger attack in the United Kingdom. The bizarre clip appeared to parody the deadly incident, prompting criticism from people who felt the president’s posts were disrespectful to the man who lost his life and his grieving family. Donald Trump Shares AI Video Of Himself Playing With A Tiger After Fatal UK Attack
One of the most trending stories online this week was that of a man who died following a tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster, England, on October 10th. The victim was 23-year-old William Chapman, who entered a zoo enclosure before being attacked by the tiger. Online footage of him just before the fatal strikes from the animal went viral on social media, causing a lot of distress amongst users and Chapman’s family.
However, the 80-year-old commander in chief shared footage of the attack on Truth Social on October 13th, writing, “Don’t ever mess with nature!” Later, he posted an AI-generated video featuring himself and a tiger, seemingly referencing the incident.
In the AI-generated clip, Trump is shown approaching the tiger before chasing it away and playfully wrestling with it. The video then shows the president embracing the tiger as the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays in the background. Unlike the real footage, the AI video portrays the president as being able to interact with the dangerous animal without being harmed.
Social Media Users Slam Trump’s ‘Disrespectful’ Tiger Video
The former NYC real estate mogul’s decision to share the AI-generated clip so soon after posting footage of the fatal attack did not sit well with many people online.
Critics called the video disrespectful to the attack victim and his loved ones, who were still grieving his death, while others questioned how it was appropriate for a president to share what appeared to be a joke about such a tragic incident.
“This is appallingly tasteless,” wrote Piers Morgan on X. “Delete it, President Trump.”
“This is who he is,” a user responded. “There is nothing too low for him to do to gain attention. I posted earlier that it was egregious, but Trump has always been this way, evil to the core. He cares about no one but himself.”
“The family is grieving, and the president puts out a mockery post!” commented a user. “Absolutely disgusting.”
One user called Trump “the most disrespectful” president, as another wrote they were “genuinely speechless” after seeing the AI video.
“Just why?!” asked another. “Someone take his tech devices off him.”
