One look through Heidi Klum’s Instagram is enough to see that the supermodel isn’t afraid to experiment with fashion, whether she’s walking a red carpet or appearing on Project Runway. But while the style icon has built a career around taking fashion risks, some fans online aren’t impressed with her recent outfit choices, calling several of her looks “bizarre,” “tacky,” and outdated.
In a recent Reddit discussion, users dissected some of Klum’s latest outfits, including a sequin mini dress, a seafoam-green gown she wore to The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere, and several structured and formal looks. The model has continued to play with bold silhouettes, textures, and fabrics, but some fans argued that her wardrobe has become more dated than daring.

Heidi Klum Fans Divided Over Her Recent Fashion Moments
“She has famously terrible taste. She’s tall and beautiful so she can get away with it, but she has no business judging a design competition. Great host, though,” one person wrote.
Another commented, “She always wears the shortest things I’ve ever seen. It just looks silly, like she forgot pants.”
“Short, tight and tacky is Heidi’s aesthetic and she’s a supermodel, so it works for her!” another person said.
Others were even more blunt about her personal style.
“Heidi has awful personal style. Like, really bad,” one Reddit user wrote, while another simply said, “Heidi loves tacky!”
Another commenter claimed that Klum is also known for her flashy fashion choices in Germany, writing, “In Germany, she’s known for her tacky red carpet outfits.”
One fan focused on Klum’s hair and overall styling, writing, “Heidi looks so dated, especially her hair. I’d love to see an updo or a shorter bob. Her hair, as well as her heavy, tacky clothes, are dull and boring. Certainly not inspiring.”
Of course, the 53-year-old's love of over-the-top fashion isn't exactly new. Her famously elaborate annual Halloween costumes have become a major part of her public image, with one fan joking, “She’s known for wild Halloween costumes. Does that count?”
Another user even compared her recent fashion choices to the trajectory of the show she helped make famous, writing, “Her outfits have gone downhill just like the show.”
The TV personality serves as a host and judge on Project Runway, where she evaluates contestants’ designs and helps determine which designers will advance or be eliminated.
Given her longstanding connection to the fashion world, her personal style continues to attract plenty of attention—and, clearly, plenty of opinions.

Heidi Opens Up About Recent Weight Gain
The resurfaced fashion moments come as Heidi has opened up about feeling increasingly confident and comfortable in her body as she gets older.
After decades as a model, Klum recently said she is happier with gaining some weight and no longer feeling pressured to maintain an extremely slim frame.
“I’m no longer a size 24 jean. But I think with age, we look better when we’re not as skinny,” Klum told Us Weekly in an interview published July 8. Heidi told the publication that it was her husband Tom Kaulitz, Tokio Hotel guitarist, that helped change her perspective on her weight.
“He said, ‘You should eat more; you would look better if you had more meat on your bones,’” she recalled. “This is not something you’re told in the industry, ever, because you’re always supposed to be skinnier than you are.”
Going down memory lane while looking at older photos of herself, the mom of four added, “He’s right! Proportion-wise, I look better bigger.”
