Donald Trump has once again sparked concern about his cognitive health after appearing to forget the name of the Republican gubernatorial candidate he was campaigning for during a rally in Alaska on Tuesday, October 13th.

In footage that has since gone viral, the 80-year-old president referred to Bernadette Wilson simply as “a very nice female governor,” rather than mentioning her by name. And the apparent memory lapse is the latest in a series of incidents that have raised questions about the president’s health. Keep reading for all the details…

Donald Trump Appears To Forget Republican Gubernatorial Candidate’s Name During Alaska Rally

Trump was speaking at a rally in support of Republican Senate candidate Dan Sullivan when he appeared to forget the name of fellow Republican and gubernatorial candidate Bernadette Wilson.

In the now-viral footage, the president told the crowd: “You can defeat the Democrat communists and vote for more money in your pockets, bigger paychecks for your families, much lower taxes, less crime, booming Alaska energy, and no amnesty for illegal aliens. So, to do that, all you have to do is vote Republican, vote for the real Dan [Sullivan], vote for Nick [Begich], vote for a very nice female governor.”

Although Trump had mentioned Wilson by name earlier in the rally, his failure to do so during this particular part of his speech immediately prompted speculation that he had momentarily forgotten it, with some social media users questioning his memory and cognitive health.

Donald Trump's Previous Health Concerns

And this isn't the first time Trump's health has come under scrutiny in recent weeks. On September 27th, footage appeared to show him breathing heavily while sitting inside his motorcade vehicle in Chicago, ahead of the President's Cup at Medinah Country Club. The video prompted some viewers to question whether he was struggling to catch his breath, with others wondering why he wasn't wearing an oxygen mask.

His physical health has also been the subject of speculation following several other viral videos. One showed him standing in an unusual position while speaking to reporters, prompting some viewers to question whether he was experiencing problems with his leg or balance. One person commented: "He does look like he's about to lose his balance and fall over."

In another widely discussed video, Trump was seen sitting on a pillow while hosting French President Emmanuel Macron at Trump Tower. Some social media users wondered whether he needed the pillow to make sitting down and standing up easier due to his age, while others joked that it wasn't that serious and that he simply wanted to appear taller than Macron.

Internet Reactions

The latest footage has sparked another wave of criticism online, with one social media user sharing the clip alongside the caption: "Trump can't remember Bernadette Wilson's name: 'Vote for a very nice female governor.'"

"Not much left upstairs anymore," one person commented. "They don't even bother with cognitive tests... he's cooked," a second wrote. "How long until the dementia/Alzheimer's completely damages his brain beyond repair?" questioned a third.

"Trump's age is higher than his IQ," a fourth remarked. "Not the guy who needed a note card to remember to patronize gun violence survivors," a fifth added.

However, not everyone agreed with the criticism, with some people defending the president and accusing his detractors of making too much of the incident. "Gawd! Can these spiteful lefties think of anything else to nitpick about," one Express reader commented.

"As you get older your memory isn't as sharp as it was and with everything Trump has to remember the odd lapse is nothing. He's doing great, well done Trump," wrote a second, in his defense.
