Kamala Harris is facing renewed scrutiny over her stance on Israel after offering seemingly conflicting assessments of her time in the Biden administration. While the former vice president previously said there wasn’t a thing she would have done differently from Joe Biden, she has since suggested that the former president failed to act “forcefully” enough in his handling of Israel. Kamala Harris Says Biden Didn’t Act 'Forcefully' Enough

While speaking at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea, Harris didn’t hold back her criticisms of both the current Trump administration as well as Joe Biden’s administration in the context of their handling of the conflict in Israel. Most recently, the failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government’s horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration, which offers [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully."

Harris had previously expressed concerns about the humanitarian toll of the war in Gaza while serving as vice president, but largely maintained the Biden administration's overall approach to Israel.

This comes just a few weeks after Harris said that there’s “not a thing that comes to mind” in terms of things she would’ve done differently than Joe Biden. During her appearance on The View in early October, Harris was asked if there was anything she would’ve done differently than Biden did when they worked together.

"There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of —and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact,” Harris said, mentioning the administration’s success in capping the cost of insulin at $35 for Medicare recipients.

Later on in the show, though, she backtracked slightly. “You asked me what is the difference between Joe Biden in me,” she said. “That will be one of the differences. I’m going to have a Republican in my Cabinet,” she said.

The remarks also come as questions continue to swirl about Harris's political future and whether she could mount another presidential campaign in 2028. Despite having attended multiple campaign events, Harris still hasn’t confirmed if she’ll be running for president in 2028, sticking to her claim that she “might.”
