We’re still thinking about the brutal nickname the late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly had for Queen Camilla before she married King Charles – especially now that it’s resurfaced in a new report published on October 14th!
The late Queen was a legend in so many ways – and for many, her alleged initial dislike of the then-Camilla Parker Bowles was just another thing that made her legendary! The late monarch already scored plenty of brownie points with royal watchers by wearing white to Charles and Camilla’s wedding back in 2005 – a style faux pas that not many people seemed to mind! And we have a feeling some royal fans will be just as delighted to rediscover the rather brutal three-word nickname she reportedly had for her future daughter-in-law, if they didn’t know about it already.
Interestingly, the nickname was revisited in an October 14th report that actually focused on the more positive things people have said about Camilla over the years, including a much more flattering nickname used by Clarence House staff. Keep reading for all the details…

The Late Queen Elizabeth II's Reported Nickname For Camilla
According to the recent report, which revisited comments from journalist and royal author Hilary Rose, the late Queen wasn't particularly fond of Camilla during the earlier years of her relationship with Charles, reportedly referring to her as "that wicked woman."
The alleged nickname is believed to have stemmed from Camilla's affair with Charles while he was still married to the late Princess Diana. According to royal biographer Tom Bower, the late Queen was reportedly furious about the affair and Camilla's role in the breakdown of her son's marriage.
In his 2018 book, Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, Bower claimed that the late monarch made the remark during a heated conversation with Charles at Balmoral, when he asked his mother to be more accepting of Camilla. The Queen reportedly refused to condone his adultery and allegedly declared: "I want nothing to do with her." Yikes!

Rose, who wrote The Secret Diary of Queen Camilla, explored how Camilla overcame years of public scrutiny to establish herself within the royal family, despite the late Queen's alleged initial reservations about her. The relationship between the two women reportedly improved over time, with Rose explaining that they eventually found common ground through their shared love of horses and dogs.
Their relationship had seemingly come a long way by February 2022, when the late monarch expressed her "sincerest wish" that Camilla would be known as Queen Consort when Charles eventually became King.
And that's exactly what happened after Queen Elizabeth passed away in September 2022, with Camilla later being crowned alongside Charles at their May 2023 coronation.

Royal Author Praises Queen Camilla For Winning Over The Royal Family
And the late monarch wasn't the only person Camilla reportedly won over! She seemingly earned the affection and respect of many people over the years, including members of the Clarence House team, who have a much more flattering three-word nickname for her!
Writing in the Daily Mail back in 2024, Rose revealed: "She is known by some aides at Clarence House as 'the lady boss', and a friend says that she has succeeded 'just by being herself.'"
The author also praised Camilla's approach to royal life, describing how she had "stepped up her duties with cheerful good humor and the energy of someone considerably younger." Rose also explained that Camilla wasn't someone who could easily be pushed around, but equally wasn't the type to throw a tantrum when things didn't go her way.
