The "D.M.B" rapper joined the "We Found Love" singer on the US dates of her Diamonds World Tour, and performed as her opening act. We would give anything to have been a fly on the wall during these early stages!
September 2013 – Rihanna stars in A$AP Rocky's "Fashion Killa" music video
Fans got their first glimpse at what Ri-Ri and A$AP Rocky would look like as a couple when they portrayed a couple in his "Fashion Killa" music video. Who knew it would have taken seven more years – and a few relationships with other people in-between – for them to make this a reality!
June 2018 – Attend Paris Fashion Week together
Nobody could focus on the catwalk when it was announced that the couple were spotted sitting together on the front row of the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2018 show during Paris Fashion Week! What a stylish pair they made!
It's important to note that the "Love on the Brain" singer was actually dating Toyota heir Hassan Jameel during this time, as they reportedly started dating in 2017 and officially announced that they had called it quits in January 2020.
September 2018 – A$AP Rocky attends Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball
Nobody was surprised to see A$AP Rocky walk the red carpet for Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball to raise money for her Clara Lionel Foundation. They may not have made their relationship official yet, as Rihanna was still dating Jameel, but it has always been obvious that the pair were good friends, so nobody was shocked to see his name on the guest list.
September 2019 – A$AP Rocky returns to Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball
Friends support friends, so we weren’t surprised to see the "L$D" rapper make a return to her annual fundraiser, or to see that he had made a huge effort for his red carpet appearance. Was he doing it all for her? We think so!
December 2019 – Their red carpet debut at the British Fashion Awards
A$AP Rocky must have done something right over the previous few months, as the couple *finally* made their red carpet debut to the delight of their millions upon millions of fans. (Interestingly, it wasn’t officially confirmed that Rihanna had split with Jameel until the next month, but this picture, alongside everything else that happened that evening, made it pretty clear to fans that their relationship was more or less over!)
The couple walked the British Fashion Awards red carpet together, and the rapper told GQ and Vogue that the Fenty mint green satin mini dress she wore that evening – which was accessorized with matching gloves and a matching coat – was his "favorite outfit" of hers! Aww! And the outfit appreciation goes both ways, as Billboard later revealed that he was not only wearing a Fenty tuxedo, but that Rihanna personally designed it! We have goosebumps!
August 2020 – Collaborate for Fenty Skin
The pair came together professionally yet again, as Rocky joined Rihanna's debut Fenty Skin campaign. Fans were losing it over their steamy "Face to Face" video interviews for GQ and Vogue, and their undeniable chemistry on screen made it very easy to confirm that they were far more than friends.
November 2020 – People confirms that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are officially dating!
A source told People that the pair were officially dating back in November 2020 – and the rest, as they say, is history!
December 2020 – Barbados vacation together
The couple no longer had to hide their relationship, and wasted no time in flaunting their love for each other when they took their first romantic vacation together – and Rihanna's native Barbados couldn’t have been a more perfect spot!
And they were just as loved-up on the vacation as fans thought, with an insider telling People: "They are spending Christmas together with Rihanna's family. They've been inseparable the past few weeks. It's a new relationship, but they both seem very into it." The source also went on to say that "they have a lot in common," adding: "They've always seemed to have a great time together."
January 2021 – Rihanna Supports A$AP Rocky's Shoe Line
Time for Rihanna to return the favor and support her beau's fashion venture, as she supported Rocky's shoe line (a collaboration between Amina Muaddi and Rocky's creative agency, AWGE) by posting a seriously smokin' picture of herself on Instagram wearing a pair of crystal-embellished gladiator sandals. Both the shoes and Ri-Ri were fire!
May 2021 – A$AP Rocky tells GQ Rihanna is "the one" and "love of my life"
People wasn’t the only pub that got the inside scoop on Rocky and Rihanna's relationship, as the "Babushka Boi" rapper also revealed all in a very candid interview with GQ. He told the outlet that the "Umbrella" hitmaker was the "love of my life" and "the one," sending the whole world into an absolute frenzy!
To quote the rapper exactly, he said that his life was "So much better. So much better when you got 'the one.' She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones." Aww! He reiterated his thoughts once again, adding: "I think when you know, you know. She's the One."
July 2021 – Rihanna and A$AP Rocky collaborate in NYC
Although their final project has yet to be revealed, the couple appeared to be collaborating professionally together again, as they were both spotted filming something exciting in New York City. It looked like they were in the Big Apple for pleasure as well as business, as they found time in their busy schedules to enjoy some time off with each other, made evident by the many pap photos of them holding hands as they took a romantic stroll in the city. We're obsessed!
September 2021 – Red carpet debut at the Met Gala
Two months later, the couple made their red carpet debut since officially confirming their relationship for one of the biggest nights on the fashion calendar, in its unconventional September slot. (The Met Gala is usually held on the first Monday in May, but was pushed to September in 2021 after being canceled completely in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.) And it's safe to say that their appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was well worth the wait – Rihanna was the last A-lister to walk the red carpet – as they were easily one of the best dressed (and looked like the most in-love) couples of the night!
The former co-chair, who is no stranger to owning Met Gala red carpets, wowed the crowd in a striking look by Demna Gvasalia, which consisted of a black Balenciaga high-collared sculptural coat dress, a matching hat, over 267 carats of Bulgari jewels, a Thelma West ring, and Maria Tash earrings. Rocky complemented his beau perfectly, wearing a multicolored quilted blanket coat by ERL.
January 2022 – Rihanna debuts her baby bump, she and A$AP Rocky announce they are expecting their first child together
The couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child together in a viral, internet-breaking photoshoot in New York City, whereby Rihanna showcased her bare bump for the world to see. Although the announcement took the world by surprise, fans may have had a feeling that this would happen in the not-so-distant future, as the pair have both been very open about their desire to have children.

May 2022 – Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcome their baby boy
After the couple's secret baby shower in March 2022, Rihanna gave birth to their baby boy in May 2022 – May 13th, to be exact! His name has still yet to be revealed, but we await the news with baited breath!
