Eco-Chic: Vy & Elle Bags
August 7, 2006
I’m a bagaholic, I admit. I can’t walk into any store that has purses or totes or even luggage without drooling. The last time I had to shop for a laptop bag it literally took me days. Forget messenger bags and purses. If I had the money, I would never stop buying new ones. And the first ones I would buy are Vy & Elle bags. This company combines a really great idea with great design. What more could one want?
Vy & Elle bags are made from old billboards. Most of the banner advertisements you see are just big pieces of vinyl. Good quality vinyl – it has to stand up to the elements for months at a time, after all. Better those retired ads make you look chic than sit around in a landfill creating harmful toxins.
I have two favorites. The Wallet Pouch is great for those times when I don’t need to take a lot of stuff with me but don’t want to stuff my pockets. The Large DJ Bag is a great messenger that boasts five compartments with a nice wide strap for comfort.
Vy & Elle is a very eco-conscious company. The products are made overseas, but every effort is made to ensure that the factories follow strict guidelines to protect the rights of the workers. Beyond just using recycled materials, they make sure all of their scraps are recycled, too. Next time you’re in the market for a new bag (that would be all the time, right?) check out Vy & Elle bags. You can find almost the entire line of products at Clear Remedies.
