The "First Lady Face-off" has finally occurred, sans talons, evil stares, or an indecipherable Kelly Bensimon-esque tirade. Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy met today while fashion folk strained their necks to see what each icon would choose to wear for the occasion.
MObama opted for a floral coat paired with a magenta shift dress (we haven't confirmed the designer yet, but we're banking on Thakoon) while Bruni played it safer in a light, muted grey.
This Thakoon Walking Rose Organza Dress ($1480) is similar in color, pattern, and sleeve detail to Michelle's frock, leading us to believe Thakoon is the First Lady's choice of the day.
