Anne Hathaway, 29, married Adam Shulman, 31, an actor and jewelry designer, on Saturday night in the Big Sur on the California coast. The couple had been engaged since last November.
The The Dark Knight actress, wore a custom, off-the shoulder Valentino gown, paired with a tulle headwrap and cathedral length veil, also by the designer. The designer recently said of Hathaway: “She’s a very good friend of mine. She’s like my daughter!” She paired her look with a white and ivory bouquet, and white ballet flats. Shulman wore a traditional tuxedo.
180 guests were invited for the wedding weekend, which started with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa on Friday. The ceremony was held at a private estate. Branches were used as part of the rustic, pink and white wedding decor to create a ceremony and reception that blended in with the majestic Big Sur surroundings.
It has been reported that the couple spent more than $100,000 on flowers from The Velvet Garden, a floral design studio that specializes in high-end designs. The florists previously worked on the weddings of Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman.
Hathaway and Shulman held an engagement party back in February at a New York City bookstore, where they served vegan cuisine.
The Big Sur seems to becoming the latest celebrity wedding wedding locale. Natalie Portman wed Benjamin Millepied there in August.
