The Twilight Wedding Dress Is A Hit -- And Not Necessarily For Brides
November 30, 2011
The third Twilight film just cleared the $500 million mark internationally, and now The Daily Mail is reporting that frenzied Twi-Hards are not only flocking to theaters — but to bridal salons to get a piece of the action. Much to the chagrin of actual brides and gown salespeople, Twilight fans are flooding Alfred Angelo stores, where the Bella dress replica is sold.
The influx of non-engaged Twilight voyeurs toAlfred Angelo salons has meant significant wear and tear to the sample gowns. A rep for the company confirmed that brides aren’t the only ones going wedding dress shopping. “We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the rush of collectors ordering the gown,” PR director Amanda Sheronas told us. ” It’s become a necessity for every Twilight collector.”
However, we’re guessing it’s probably a risk they’re willing to take. What will if/happen when the actual Carolina Hererra original hits stores? We shutter at the thought.
