According to Food Network, a traditional caesar salad contains just under 500 calories, 40 grams of fat, and 1,070 milligrams of sodium. We think we’ll definitely be skipping the caesar salad altogether next time.

A good rule of thumb is to say no to creamy salad dressings, and thousand island dressing is no exception. According to registered dietitian Jeryln Jones, cream-based thousand island dressings are high in saturated fats, sugar, and calories. Jones recommends opting for oil-based dressings or vinaigrettes as healthy alternatives instead.

Another popular yet unhealthy salad dressing is ranch dressing. According to Verywell Fit, just two tablespoons of ranch dressing has about 16 grams of fat and 148 calories in it. However, there are in fact ways to enjoy ranch dressing in moderation. Verywell Fit recommends choosing a low-calorie or low-fat version of ranch dressing if you really can’t give up the creamy goodness.

French dressings can also be risky for your waistline due to their sodium and fat content. According to HuffPost, french dressing is ranked as one of the unhealthiest salad dressing options since it contains 240 milligrams of sodium and 15 grams of fat with 1 gram saturated fat.
