Karoline Leavitt is known for being outspoken and opinionated, but many think one of her latest comments took things too far.
The White House Press Secretary recently sat down for a Fox News interview where she suggested that young Americans, specifically members of Gen Z, who have been complaining about the state of America’s economy, should be sent to Iran or Cuba, where there are well-known humanitarian crises. Her comments stirred up controversy as people slammed her opinion and called her out for her privileged lifestyle. Read more about what she said and how the internet reacted below.

Karoline Leavitt Suggests Members Of Gen Z Be Sent To Iran Or Cuba In New Interview
One of the most notable faces of the current Trump administration is undoubtedly the blonde press secretary, who made history as the youngest person to hold the esteemed position and has gone viral online numerous times for her wit and one-liners.
When she's not holding conferences or getting into spats with journalists, Karoline often sits down for informative and sometimes opinionated interviews, typically with stations approved by the current administration, like Fox News. In a recent interview from last week with the network, Jesse Watters, the host of the Primetime show, began talking about younger Americans, including twenty-somethings who fall under Gen Z. He stated that they should be "drafted" if they're unhappy with or complaining about the current state of the U.S. economy.
"If they misbehave, just make all these young kids join the army," he suggested. "Shape them up."
Karoline, who referred to Gen Z as "lazy," responded to this by saying, "Or send them to Cuba. Send them to Iran. They'll want to come back real quick."

Social Media Users Slam Karoline's Iran & Cuba Suggestion
After making her comments about sending younger people to the two countries, they quickly began spreading on various social media platforms, given their severity and timeliness.
The Trump administration and the United States as a whole currently have extremely tense and weakened relationships with both countries. President Trump famously led a series of strikes on Iran alongside Israel, as well as commanded a series of actions that contributed to the strict oil blockade in Cuba, causing blackouts, extreme fuel shortages, and more.
Therefore, many were offended when they heard the mom-of-two's thoughts on sending young people who are upset with the current conditions in their country over to Iran and Cuba. Several also pointed out how they found her idea to be ironic, considering she leads a rather privileged and luxurious lifestyle with her husband, a millionaire real estate investor.
"Says the one married to a millionaire," commented an Instagram user.
"She's Gen Z, [by the way]," added another, pointing out her age of 28.
"The [enjoyment] conservatives have for the need to punish anyone who doesn't think like them is wild to me," wrote a user.
One user called Karoline's message "disgusting," as another added, "She wouldn't last a single hour in the shoes of a homeless Gen Z woman."
