Kathy Griffin Claims She Was 'Banned' From 'The Tonight Show' In A New Instagram Video
There have been plenty of comedians who have come in and out of the spotlight, one of them being the iconic redhead, Kathy Griffin.
The comedian and actress, well-known for her reality series, My Life On The D-List, as well as her comedy specials, was once praised for her intense jokes and ability to make people laugh by pushing the envelope. However, her career and reputation took a major hit in 2017, when, after making various statements against the president-elect at the time, Donald Trump, she posed for a photo with a fake severed head resembling him.
Kathy's photo circulated quickly and was considered extremely controversial, offensive, and even dangerous by many. It led to a wave of online and in-person backlash, canceled projects and performances, as well as her being under investigation by the Secret Service. Since then, she's been doing what she can to repair her image, apologizing while continuing to make new comedic content on social media. In a new Instagam video, she called out actor and talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, for not making an effort to invite her onto the late-night show as a guest.
"I guess I'm banned from the Fallon show, or inappropriate or too controversial, I don't even know," she said in her new video. "When you're banned from a show...they don't usually tell you you're banned, they just can't seem to find room for you."
Throughout the rest of her video, the 65-year-old called out the show's host for having on other controversial figures, like MMA fighter Conor McGregor and President Trump himself.
"I think it's time we figure out who we're gonna cancel and who we're not," she added. "Take it from the most canceled celebrity in history...As the kids say, 'do better.'"

Fans React To Kathy's Video In The Comments
Once the former reality star's video was shared on her social media page, publicly calling out Jimmy for "banning" her from his successful late-night show, she added the caption, "Fallon, what kind of message are we sending here?!"
"And can we please save canceling people for the ones who actually deserve it?" she continued.
In the comments section, many followers and other social media users were very supportive of Kathy, as they agreed that the Saturday Night Live alum seemed disingenuous and unfair to have on other debatable figures and seemingly not allow her back on his show.
"Up until he endorsed McGregor, I thought Fallon was one of the good guys," commented a user. "Sad."
"I don't watch this guy," added another. "He is a huge phony."
"I'm really, really disappointed in Fallon," wrote a fan. "Really enjoyed his show at the beginning, but he lost me, pretending these people aren't problematic."
"Kathy!" added another. "You are strong, authentic, and courageous! Speaking the truth and standing up for women and marginalized folks!"
