Lara Trump Opens Up About Her Fitness Routine
The president’s daughter-in-law has previously spoken about the dedication it takes to maintain her fitness while balancing work, travel, and raising two children.
“As an athlete for my entire life, I have always appreciated the way that exercise can affect everything from your physique to your mood,” she told Trump.com. “I make it a point—although it’s often a very early point—to start my day with exercise.”
She explained that setting fitness goals helps keep her motivated, revealing that she regularly competes in triathlons.
“As someone who likes to have goals to strive toward, I like to compete in triathlons on a regular basis. It makes going for a run, bike ride or swim that much more meaningful while I’m doing it.”
The 43-year-old also shared how she balances motherhood with her demanding schedule, crediting both her husband and her nanny for helping make it possible.
“I’m incredibly lucky that I have help,” she said. “My husband is always the first one to jump in on the weekend to take Luke and Carolina so that I can go for a run.”
She admitted that, like many working mothers, she has struggled with guilt over relying on childcare, but has learned to focus on being fully present with her children when they’re together.
“I know that I’d rather be happy and engaged when I’m with my kids than cranky and distracted,” she explained.
As for her favorite workout, the mom of two said she enjoys mixing up her routine to avoid boredom, though cycling remains one of her biggest passions.
“One of my favorite things is to be on my bike,” she shared. “There’s such freedom to being completely disconnected—no music, no wires, no screens, just me and my bike. It always takes me back to a time when I was a kid, out on a bike without a care in the world.”
