Katherine Heigl is receiving some much-needed emotional support from her husband, Josh Kelley, as she deals with an unfortunate “health crisis.” The actress suffered a herniated disc in her neck, and headed back from Utah to Los Angeles for treatment. Although her injury sounds painful, Heigl was still in good spirits, thanks to her husband’s constant support.
Heigl first posted about the situation on Instagram: "First trip since the start of the pandemic is back to L.A. to deal with a herniated disc in my neck."
The actress added, "Thank God for @joshbkelley for not only coming with me to hold my hand but for providing me with some very much needed comedic relief!"
Kelley also kept Heigl entertained during her doctor's visit. While looking at scans of his wife's neck injury, Kelley joked, "Well ma'am, I've got some bad news... Your brain is absolutely gorgeous!"
The actress clearly appreciated his sense of humor. She captioned the video, "Another @joshbkelley gem. This is definitely the guy you want by your side during a health crisis."
Heigl's latest health update included more details on her "excruciating" injury and treatment plan. She gave her followers the news in a joke-filled Instagram post. "Well...I am now bionic!! Two titanium disk now inhabit my neck and I can probably stand on my head for like hours...I’m not gonna try it just yet but give me a few months and I’ll blow your mind!!" she wrote.

She also gave shout-outs to her doctors. "I am so deeply deeply grateful to the incredible Dr’s and care team that saved me from the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced and blessed me with a new pain free lease on life... Thank you for your tremendous talent and expertise and for saving my neck!" the actress wrote.
"Heading into surgery and hospital stays is always a bit scary and you guys could not have made me feel more comfortable or taken care of! Thank you thank you thank you!!"
We hope she feels fully recovered soon -- and that her husband manages to keep her laughing throughout the process.
