Cheryl Hines and Larry David played one of the most famous married couples in all of television sitcom history. However, with his new series on the horizon, Michelle Obama is ensuring that his former on-screen wife won’t be part of it.
A new report has emerged that, since the former first lady and her husband, Barack Obama, are producing the new Larry David series, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America, she has taken steps to ensure that the Curb Your Enthusiasm actress will not have any involvement. Sources claim Michelle is ‘banning’ Cheryl from the new show primarily due to her latest support of the Trump administration alongside her husband, Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Read more about the situation below.

Michelle Obama Reportedly Had Cheryl Hines Banned From Larry David's New Series
If you were an avid television watcher from the late 90s to just two years ago, there's a good chance you've heard of or have seen a few episodes of actor and writer Larry David's infamous comedy series, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The show famously starred Larry as a fictionalized version of himself, getting into sticky situations and creating some of what many fans consider to be the most hilarious episodes of television. One of the most popular faces of the series was actress Cheryl Hines, who played his wife, as well as a fictionalized version of herself. The show ended in 2024 after 25 years, but recently, fans of the show creator have been very excited, as he announced and recently kicked off his new series, Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America. It's been produced by Michelle and Barack Obama's production company, Higher Ground Productions.
The show, which premiered on June 26th, is a limited sketch comedy series portraying major events in the United States. Though Larry stars in it, alongside a few familiar faces from Curb, Cheryl Hines is not on the cast list. Earlier this week, an inside source revealed that it was due to one of the show's producers, Michelle Obama.
"[She] commanded that Kennedy's wife be banned from the cast because she's now all-MAGA, all-the-time," the source told The Daily Mail.

Sources Say Cheryl Was 'Terribly Hurt' By The Decision
Though she wasn't always considered an extremely controversial figure, the Waitress star has been married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for over 11 years. Over those years, she's made the occasional statement about disagreeing with some of his more right-leaning political views. However, now that he is President Trump's appointed Secretary of Health, she's received a lot more backlash for continuing to stand by his side and support him.
Just recently, Cheryl was seen at President Trump's Freedom 250 UFC event at the White House, solidifying her comfort level with his administration and the MAGA movement. According to the above source, this is one of the main reasons why the Becoming author sought to keep the actress away from the new Larry David series.
"Cheryl felt terribly hurt and emotionally injured because she had worked so closely with Larry for the entire 12 seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and they had become like bosom buddies," the insider continued. "Cheryl's dream was to work with Larry again and be part of the cast of the new show. She firmly believed that the staunch anti-Trumper could put aside his negative political views about MAGA and Kennedy."
"But banning Cheryl was a command from Michelle that Larry could not go against, even if he had wanted to, for old time's sake, and mend their past close ties," they added. "He always respected her as an actress. But Michelle's the boss. And you don't cross the boss, especially a powerful anti-MAGA force like Michelle."
