Nicole Kidman was a notable guest at this year’s Emmy Awards, but her outfit didn’t necessarily go over very well.
The Australian native was one of many head-turning celebrities who attended this year’s Emmy Awards, but some of her loyal fans and other fashion enthusiasts were not too fond of her choice of shoes and dress. Though she’s known for making statements on the red carpet, this ensemble seemed to make a negative one in the eyes of numerous social media users. Read more about her look and how the internet reacted below.

Nicole Kidman Steps Out In A White Gown & Black Heels At The 2026 Emmys
This year's Emmy Awards came with a lot of viral moments between celebrities and, as per usual, viral moments on the red carpet.
The Practical Magic 2 star might not have been a nominee this year, but she was a standout attendee, walking the red carpet and also making a surprise guest appearance during host Mariska Hargitay's opening monologue. She also caught people's attention with her dramatic white gown with lots of texture.
She had on a custom white Chanel dress featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline, plunging bodice, and thigh-high slit. The gown was embellished with numerous floral pieces, which added a soft, feathered effect throughout the look. She accessorized with black Chanel shoes and jewelry, and a vintage watch, while her blonde hair was swept into a chic updo with long, face-framing curtain bangs.

Social Media Users Slam Nicole's Emmys Look
The Oscar winner tends to be a hit on red carpets, making headlines with her looks and the outfits her styling team puts together. However, this time, it was a different story.
Not only did people find that the outfit as a whole was unflattering, but others also took to social media to write about how they felt her black heels didn't go with the dress, making it look like a disjointed ensemble.
"I really like the whole look…until we get to her feet," commented a user on Reddit. "What a strange miss on the shoes."
"Ugh, I hate black shoes with white dresses," wrote another.
"The stark black heels are kinda jarring," a user added, as another suggested they "would be wild about this with the shoe in a jewel tone, like emerald."
One Instagram user wrote they felt the black heels were "awful," with another user writing that they were "a diabolical choice."
