Olivia Wilde‘s latest red-carpet appearance at the Locarno Film Festival last weekend sent social media into a frenzy, with fans focusing less on her latest film and more on her appearance.
The mom of two stepped onto the red carpet at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on Saturday, August 8th, while promoting her new movie The Invite, which she directed and stars in. But as photos from the event made their way across social media, users quickly began expressing concern over how thin they thought the actress and director looked, with some saying they were upset to see her appearance. Read more about her look for the special evening abroad and how her fans ended up reacting below.

Olivia Wilde Steps Out In A Fendi Gown For The Locarno Film Festival
The Don't Worry Darling director brought plenty of Hollywood glam to the Locarno Film Festival as she celebrated the European premiere of her latest movie. On Saturday, August 8th, Olivia attended the screening of The Invite in Locarno, Switzerland, as part of the 79th annual Locarno Film Festival. The appearance is one of many she's made this summer as she continues promoting the comedy-drama, which she directed and also stars in alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton.
For the occasion, the mom-of-two turned heads in a summer-coded Fendi look from the brand's Cruise 2027 collection. The look consisted of a flowing, floor-length chiffon dress with a beige skirt, delicate spaghetti straps, and a plunging black leather bra-style top. The combination created an edgy element to the soft, flowing gown.
The 42-year-old kept the rest of her look relatively simple, letting the dress do all the talking. She accessorized with drop earrings and a small diamond bracelet. She wore her highlighted hair in loose waves and completed the elegant ensemble with a dramatic black cat-eye.

Fans React To Olivia's Appearance On Social Media
While Olivia appeared confident and chill on the red carpet, once pictures of her at the film festival went viral, some social media users quickly shifted their attention toward her noticeably slimmer-looking frame, with many expressing concern and wondering whether something was going on with the actress.
The reaction also comes after the House alum faced similar concerns several times this year, more specifically at the Invite press stops. A viral appearance at the San Francisco International Film Festival in April kicked off an intense discussion about her weight and health, leading to other comments coming from her later appearances. Though she laughed off some of the viral photos, claiming she was fine and that media outlets were capturing her at bad angles, fans are continuing to express worries after seeing the latest Locarno Film Festival images.
"Stunned that her stylist didn't tell her she looked unhealthy," wrote an Instagram user.
"Time to stop this kind of beauty!" added another. "This is absurd!"
"She was beautiful, but now she looks sick," one user wrote. "So sad."
Many users also chimed in on how Olivia is one of many actresses and Hollywood performers who have been stepping out looking thinner than in the past, expressing worry about the new "unhealthy" beauty standards they're setting.
"This glamorization of being unhealthily thin is not good for anybody, including Olivia Wilde," a user commented.
"What is going on with these actresses?" one user asked, as another wrote, "I really, really hope she has someone in her life who is kind to her and loves her unconditionally to say, 'Please stop now.'"
"Perhaps we've taken it a little too far now," they continued.
