President Donald Trump‘s controversial comments about former President Joe Biden are resurfacing amid a new update on his cancer battle – and social media users are once again criticizing the POTUS for his remarks.

Biden, now 83, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones in May 2025. And shortly after his diagnosis was announced, Trump, now 80, said people shouldn’t feel “so sorry” for his predecessor, whom he called “vicious” while speaking in the Oval Office.

The comments have now resurfaced on social media amid a new update on Biden’s cancer battle. His son, Hunter Biden, recently spoke about his father’s health during an interview with BBC Newsnight. “The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter revealed, per Reuters, adding: “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.” He also admitted that his father’s battle is “really sad to watch,” although he stressed that Biden is “still out there” and “still doing his thing.”

Donald Trump’s Comments About Joe Biden Resurface Following Cancer Update

Biden’s office announced his diagnosis on May 18th, 2025, revealing that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. A spokesman said there was “metastasis to the bone,” but also that the cancer “appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

Less than two weeks later, on May 30th, Biden told reporters his doctors were “very optimistic” about his chances. “It’s all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill. And for the next six weeks, and then another one. The expectation is we’re going to be able to beat this… It’s not in any organ, my bones are strong, it hasn’t penetrated, so I’m feeling good,” Biden said at the time.

Trump initially stated that he and Melania Trump were "saddened" by the news of the diagnosis and wished Biden a successful recovery. "Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery," the president wrote on social media, alongside a picture of them both shaking hands.

However, less than two weeks later, Trump had some much harsher words for his predecessor while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office. "He's been a sort of a moderate person over his lifetime – not a smart person, but a somewhat vicious person, I would say," Trump said on May 30th, 2025.

He added: "If you feel sorry for him, don't feel so sorry, because he's vicious. What he did with his political opponent and all of the people that he hurt – he hurt a lot of people, Biden, so I really don't feel sorry for him."

Social Media Users Slam Donald Trump's Resurfaced Remarks

Trump's resurfaced remarks have sparked fresh backlash on social media. "Man. What a thing to say," one disappointed Instagram user wrote under an August 10th video of his comments. "Trump is so full of hate," a second slammed, as a third called him "insensitive and soulless."

"Just when you think the bar can't get lower – it does," a fourth IG user commented. "All he does is spew hate! This is not how a President should speak, no matter what party you're with!" a fifth exclaimed.

"He is so predictable. Did anyone expect an ounce of sympathy? Come on, he gave exactly as expected. God bless Joe," a sixth wrote, followed by a light blue heart emoji.

"He's so vile," a seventh said. "A putrid human being," an eighth added. "Another Trump confession. He is the vicious one," a ninth chimed in, as a tenth concluded: "There it is. Was wondering how long this would take."
