Kylie Jenner attended the star-studded wedding of her longtime friend Jordyn Woods and NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns in Malibu on Aug. 15. Jenner was accompanied by her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, but it was her revealing wedding-guest dress that quickly became a topic of conversation online.
For the occasion, the mom of two wore a Roberto Cavalli Spring 2004 ready-to-wear black dress that some social media users felt was too racy for a wedding.
The halter-style gown featured diamond-belt detailing around the waist and hips, along with dramatic side cutouts extending down toward her hips. While all guests were reportedly dressed in black, some social media users felt the Khy founder's ensemble showed significantly more skin than the other attendees.
“Kylie’s dress is really not appropriate for a wedding,” one person wrote on TikTok.
Another asked, “Why would Kylie wear that to her wedding?”
“I love Kylie down, but who wears that kind of a dress to a friend’s elegant wedding day? It’s giving night out in Miami,” another commenter said.
Someone else commented, “Kylie’s outfit is out of control for a wedding guest.”
“Kylie wanted all the attention. Very Leo of her,” another person quipped.
One user added, “The KarJenners always pick the most inappropriate dress for a wedding.”
“Why would Kylie wear such an inappropriate dress to someone else’s wedding? Like, mad disrespectful,” another critic wrote.
This isn't the first time Jenner has faced criticism for a daring wedding-guest look. In 2019, she attended Justin and Hailey Bieber’s wedding in a gold metallic cutout gown that sparked backlash from people who felt the glamorous look was too extravagant for a guest.

The 29-year-old later addressed the controversy during a 2025 appearance in Vogue’s “Life in Looks” series.
“This was for Hailey and Justin’s wedding and I think people were a little upset that I went all out,” Jenner said.
“But [Justin and Hailey] didn’t care—I don’t think.” She jokingly added, “Hailey, call me if you have an issue.”
Still, Jenner admitted that she might make a different fashion choice if she could do it again.
“I probably wouldn’t wear” the dress again, she said, explaining that she had assumed the guests would be dressing up and “going all out.”
