Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the David Foster Foundation’s 40th-anniversary gala in Victoria, Canada on Friday, August 7th. And a video of David Foster seemingly snubbing the former Suits actress is going viral!
The With Love, Meghan star, who turned 45 earlier this month, shared a picture and video from the gala with her Instagram followers on August 8th, showing her and the Spare author looking loved-up and happy, albeit with mixed reactions from the internet. But we don’t think she will want people to see the viral video, as some viewers think it shows the music producer giving her the “cold shoulder” on the red carpet!

Clip Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle At The Gala Goes Viral
The charity gala celebrated four decades of the David Foster Foundation, which supports Canadian families whose children require life-saving organ transplants. The black-tie event raised $14.5M for the foundation.
In the viral clip, Meghan and Harry are seen posing for photographs when Foster walks straight past them without appearing to acknowledge the couple. The As Ever founder seemingly reaches out her hand as he passes, but Foster continues walking without making eye contact. He returns moments later with his wife, Katharine McPhee, and the four eventually pose together, smiling and laughing. However, it was that initial interaction that caught the internet’s attention, with some viewers interpreting it as a deliberate snub to Meghan.
Foster and McPhee have been friends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for years, with Meghan and Katharine also attending the same high school in Los Angeles back in the day! Foster is also known to have a close friendship with Prince Harry, making the seemingly frosty red carpet moment all the more surprising to some viewers…

Internet Reactions
One of the many people who shared the video wrote: "Tensions on the red carpet! Meghan Markle publicly snubbed by host David Foster. Watch as he refuses to greet her and ignores her reaching hand. Ouch." And the replies were epic…
"This was soooo obvious. Foster made it a point not to make eye contact with either one of them. He just walked past them with a sour look on his face. That scene should be showed in slow motion," replied one X user. "He's not impressed by her in the least!" exclaimed a second. "David totally ignored her and hardly [said] hi to the ginger," observed a third.
"He won't even look at her!" noted a fourth, as a fifth said: "He kept his hand in his pocket. And look at David's face... It was saying 'stay away!'" "Even their 'friends' have had enough of her," quipped a sixth, as a seventh said: "He walked straight away... like a stranger… I can't! Him only acknowledging spare."
"David Foster completely iced them out and very publicly," said an eighth, as a ninth added: "Talk about a cold shoulder." "Yeah he can't stand her. I love it," a tenth chimed in, as an eleventh said: "Even David's wife didn't hug or shake hands." A twelfth concurred: "It all looks forced & extremely uncomfortable. Cringe!"

David Foster Denies Snubbing Meghan Markle
The video went viral, so it's not surprising to hear that it didn't take long for it to reach Foster himself. And he seemingly wanted to set the record straight by denying that he snubbed Meghan, and explaining that the viral footage didn't show their full interaction. Well, there you have it!
"As the host of the David Foster and Friends foundation event, I had already greeted our friends, the Duke and Duchess, at the entrance 10 minutes before the red carpet encounter. They both, graciously and selflessly, gave their time and went beyond to engage with everyone," Foster said in a statement to People.
"Harry and Meghan are dear friends of mine," he continued, adding: "Anyone watching can see there was no awkward moment and certainly no snub."
He went on to criticize the coverage and explain where the confusion may have come from, adding: "It's sad that certain media chose to deceive a red carpet encounter for clickbait. They turned simple 'positioning' to get the best photo into a hurtful lie."
