Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are expanding their family with a Twitter pregnancy announcement that nearly broke the internet. The pair, who have been together since 2016, have set their roots in Montecito, California and are growing their family outside of the confines of royal life. A spokesperson for the Prince and Markle revealed to PEOPLE, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The couple celebrated the news with a stunning black and white photograph of Prince Harry sitting in the grass with Meghan resting her head in his lap, bump in full view under a flowing white Carolina Herrera dress. Harry and Meghan gave up their royal duties last March in order to pursue a more normal life and have since made business deals with Netflix and Spotify.
The pregnancy announcement comes after Markle revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage in July of last year. In an essay for the New York Times she wrote, “Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.” It seems that this grief can now be shared with a newfound joy as they prepare for their next child!
Both Prince Harry and Meghan have adjusted well to the role of parenting, with Meghan revealing that, “It's magic. It's pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I'm really happy.” We can’t wait to meet Archie’s new little brother or sister!
