The rift became increasingly public beginning with their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, their Netflix docuseries, and Harry's 2023 memoir, Spare, where they made a number of claims about their negative and shocking experiences within the royal lifestyle. Their tales contributed to years of reported tension and animosity between the Sussexes and prominent members of the monarchy.
However, there have been signs of a possible reconciliation in recent months.
