1. Clear Your System's Cache

One fascinating thing about iPhones is just how much data and excess files they can manage to hold onto, which is why ensuring you clear your cache whenever possible can make a difference in how fast or slow your device runs.

"A hack that most people don't know about is clearing your iPhone's system cache on a regular basis," says tech pro Alex Bobes. "iOS does a good job of managing memory, but years of cached files from Safari, apps, and system updates build up and slow things down. When I help people who are frustrated about slow devices, clearing out Safari's website data and deleting apps they don't use often makes their devices noticeably faster without needing any technical knowledge."

2. Limit Background Activity

Something else that iPhone users might not know is that right now, they likely have a lot of apps on their device that are running in the background. Certain apps, especially news feed apps or social media apps, tend to constantly be refreshing their feeds, even when they're not open or actively being used. This can easily cause your phone to slow down.

"Many apps refresh in the background even when you are not using them, which is like people talking over you while you are trying to think," explains tech repair expert Sam Devia. "It eats memory and slows everything down. To stop this, go to Settings, then General, then Background App Refresh. Set it to Off or Wi-Fi Only, or turn it off for apps you do not actually need updating every minute."
