Karoline Leavitt is being accused of gaslighting President Trump’s voters after claiming that America is now “more affordable” under President Donald Trump.

During a recent appearance on Fox News’ Hannity, the mom of two defended the Trump administration while making jabs at progressive Democratic candidates, arguing that the country has become safer and more affordable under the current president. Her claims quickly went viral on social media and other outlets, as critics pointed to the continued high cost of groceries, gas, housing, and other everyday expenses. Some outraged users accused the former White House press secretary of trying to “gaslight” voters into believing the American economy is better than it actually is. Karoline Leavitt Suggests America Has Become 'More Affordable' After President Trump Was Elected

Although her time as the White House's youngest press secretary is coming to an end soon, it doesn't mean she's not capable of making controversial comments until then.

In an interview that aired with Sean Hannity on Fox News on Monday, August 10th, Karoline was discussing the upcoming midterm elections and warning viewers about the threats she felt were posed by progressive Democratic candidates. Not only that, but she also stated that voters should credit Trump and members of the Republican Party for improvements in both the economy and public safety, while slamming Democrats over other policies.

However, while going over these things, she said something that certainly stuck out and took her segment from any other political interview to a super controversial one.

"Thanks to President Trump and Republicans and common sense policies across the board, our country is safer, our country is more affordable," she told the show host.

"This is no longer the Democrat Party of JFK. Heck, this is not even the Democrat Party of Barack Obama." Karoline Leavitt slams the Democratic Party during an appearance on Hannity, warning that the party has completely shifted to the far left. "This is a party that has been totally captivated by these far left extreme liberals who support massively raising your taxes, who support abolishing your police, who support abolishing private prisons, who support opening reopening our southern border in our nation's borders to illegal alien criminals all over the world."

Social Media Users Slam Karoline's Claims

Once the famous blonde made her statement about America being not only safer but more affordable and accessible during her Fox interview, it didn't take long for social media users to clip it and post it on different platforms. Though the 28-year-old might've thought she was being positive, the reaction to her statement was anything but that.

The statement also drew attention because it came as Americans continue to deal with elevated prices. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, consumer prices rose 3.4% in the 12 months ending in July, while energy prices climbed 14.7% during the same period.

Therefore, it didn't take long for users to start pointing out the disconnect between the administration's messaging and the average American.

"They all say the same thing so that their supporters will believe it's true," commented an Instagram user.

"Needs a reality check for sure," wrote an American user. "Their days are numbered as a common person has already had enough of the corruption and lies."

"What country is she talking about?" a user asked. "Surely not this one."

One user wrote that Karoline needed to "quit lying," as several users accused her of "gaslighting" not only those who voted for Trump, but also those who didn't.

"She's delusional and deranged," commented a user.
