Kelly Osbourne is opening up about the devastating grief she experienced following the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, and how deeply it affected her physical health.
The television personality recently revealed that she became so alarmed by her dramatic weight loss that she went to great lengths to conceal her appearance at this year’s Grammy Awards, where her father’s legacy was being celebrated.
The 41-year-old said she didn’t fully realize how much weight she had lost until she saw a photograph taken while she was being fitted for her Grammy outfit.

Kelly Osbourne Details 'Scary' Weight Loss
“I looked like the f****** Crypt Keeper,” she told the Daily Mail on Sunday. “I said, ‘This is scary. I didn't know I looked like this.’ My spine—you could see every single bone.”
The image left Osbourne shaken, but she said her grief had made it difficult for her to see herself objectively.
“I couldn't see what other people saw because I was in so much pain,” she explained. “I just saw a broken person.”
Concerned that her appearance might distract from the tribute to her late father, Osbourne said she tried to hide how thin she had become.
“I wore a wig to cover my face, so you couldn't see how skinny my cheekbones really were,” she said.
Her glam team was also aware that she was struggling and tried to choose clothing that would make her appear less thin.
“They knew I was going through something. So, we were trying to find clothes to not make me look skinnier,” Osbourne said.
Despite wanting to be present for her mother and honor her father, Osbourne now questions whether she was well enough to attend the ceremony.
“I was scared. I wanted to be there to support my mum and to pay tribute to my father's legacy. But in all honesty, when I reflect on it, I don't think I should have gone. I wasn't very well.”

Kelly Gets Candid On 'Pain' After Father's Death
The mom of one also described how intense grief affected her appetite, saying the emotional pain made it difficult to even experience hunger.
“You're filled with so much pain that the feeling of hunger can't even pop up,” she said.
Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, at age 76 in Buckinghamshire, England. His death certificate listed an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction, or heart attack, among the causes of death.
Kelly has previously addressed speculation surrounding her weight loss, pushing back against online claims that she used medications such as Ozempic.
She has said that her recent weight loss occurred during a period of intense grief and illness following her father's death. She has also been open about undergoing gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, after which she lost around 85 pounds.
However, she has distinguished that earlier weight loss from the significant changes to her appearance following Ozzy's death, which she has attributed to the physical and emotional effects of mourning and struggling to eat.
