This comes after Lohan shared a video of herself and her Freaky Friday co-star Jamie Lee Curtis on-set filming the sequel to the beloved 2003 film. On June 24th, Lohan and Curtis, 65, broke the internet, with thousands of fans expressing their joy at the sight of them working together again and reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman.
“We’re back!” Lohan wrote in the caption. “It’s nice to see Lindsay looking healthy and happy,” one fan wrote as another added: “CRYING IN MILLENIALS HAPPY TEARS.” Someone else concurred, noting: “freaky friday is a classic… this is cool to see!” That same day, the official account for Disney wrote on IG alongside a photo of Lohan and Curtis: “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!”
Elyse Hollander is set to pen the script, according to The New York Times, who first broke this exciting update in May 2023, just in time to commemorate the film’s 20th anniversary. Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon will also reprise their roles from the first film.
