Sometimes the best iPhone hacks aren’t top secret. They aren’t hacks you can only employ if you have a deep knowledge of tech and devices. In fact, they are rather simple reminders that should be considered every day so that they add up to a well-working tech device.

“Modern smartphone batteries can have a long life if used properly,” says Tech Expert Adam Ng, the CEO and Founder of Trusted Malaysia. “The main trick behind extending battery lifespan is to limit how much stress the battery endures. However, there are other smartphone battery saving tips to get the most from your devices. Because when you save your battery, you improve your battery’s lifespan and avoid early battery replacement. Here’s how to keep your iPhone working longer on a single charge.”

This is the sneaky hack for extending your iPhone’s battery life — tech experts swear by it. (And Ng gave us a few more hacks to keep in mind, as well).

Update your iPhone

This may be the most important “hack” of all. “Apple recommends keeping your iPhone on the latest software at all times,” Ng says. “While it’s true some of the company’s software releases have actually been bad for battery life, Apple typically works to improve performance in each release.”

Dim your screen

“You don’t need your screen blasting at full brightness,” Ng says. “You can adjust it easily by opening the control center and changing the brightness level.”

Use Wi-Fi

“When your phone is connected to a cellular network, it’s constantly trying to ping cell towers and using up as much power as it can to get you a good data connection,” Ng says. “If Wi-Fi is available, you’re better off using it since it doesn’t require your phone’s modems to work as hard.”

Try low power mode

“If you really want to get the most out of your battery, use low power mode,” Ng says. “Some folks turn this on when their iPhone is about to die, but you can lengthen the life even if you turn it on at 100 percent.”

Try these four simple hacks to get your phone back up to working speed — or to keep it in tip-top shape.
