Lara Trump Addresses Why She Was On Her Smartwatch During Lindsey Graham’s Funeral
The post comes shortly after Lara faced criticism over another viral moment. On Tuesday, July 28, she was accused of being disrespectful during Lindsey Graham’s funeral after she was recorded looking down at her smartwatch during a brief moment of the service.
Lara later addressed the criticism in a video posted to X, explaining that she had received several calls from the camp where her children were staying.
She recalled, “Sometime around the middle of this whole thing, it was about two hours plus we were there. I, on my Apple Watch, start getting phone calls, several, from the camp that my kids go to. Well, any parent knows that that is not — that’s not good.”
“That means there’s a problem. That means they may need to reach me. That means someone is hurt or something,” she continued. “So I did what any parent would do and I tried to very discreetly inquire as to what was going on so that I could at least know that I had the ability to stay seated in the funeral.”
The 43-year-old also pushed back at those who accused her of simply checking the time.
“But the only thing you’ll see is, ‘Lara Trump checks her watch,’ like I’m checking the time. Get over yourselves,” she said.
