Fans Say Meghan Markle's New As Ever Ad 'Makes No Sense' As She Wears A 'Terrible' All-White Outfit While Scooping Ice Cream & Playing With A Dog

Meghan Markle‘s latest outfit choice is once again facing scrutiny after she appeared in a new summer promotional video for her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

On Aug. 3, As Ever released a new video featuring the former actress preparing one of her favorite ice cream treats for the summer heat.

For the ad, the Duchess of Sussex wore an all-white ensemble—a choice that quickly became a talking point given that she was preparing and eating ice cream while playing with her dog.

Meghan wore a crisscross ‘Tate’ halter top with a backless design from Reformation, which she paired with her Posse linen skirt. She completed the look with a tortoiseshell wide headband and Balenciaga sunglasses.

In the video, the mom of two prepared a raspberry shortbread ice cream sundae using raspberry spread, vanilla ice cream, crumbled shortbread and flower sprinkles.

She first assembled the dessert in a glass bowl before the video cut to Meghan holding a cone version of the treat. Throughout the clip, she also played with her dog, who appeared interested in the dessert. At one point, Meghan dipped her finger into the ice cream and then gave it to her dog to try.

However, her outfit and actions quickly drew criticism online, with some fans questioning the decision to wear white while preparing food and interacting with a dog.

“As ever, making no sense. Who wears white while scooping spread & playing with a dog?” asked one person on Reddit.

Someone else said, “As ever, no new idea, no context; her content is so [repetitive] that white linen is what gets people talking!”

Another user wrote, “As usual the whole ad is a disaster which she does on purpose. She loves the criticism I think. Her outfit is terrible. The headband looks ridiculous. Her jewelry is oversized and tacky.”

One person quipped, “Yet another poorly-fitting ‘outfit.’ Those buttons are working OVERTIME to try and stay closed. Clearly way too tight. And way too long-waisted. Why?!”

“She must have gallons of bleach with all of the white clothes she wears at inappropriate times for the things she is doing,” another joked.

One netizen said, “She made it in a glass then sat holding a cone.”

Finally, another Reddit user point out how “her stuff is the same thing over and over, same cups, same ingredients, same recipes, same beige, sun drenched aesthetic.”

Meghan Markle Faces Scrutiny Over Her Outfit Choices For As Ever Promos

Back in June, Meghan faced similar scrutiny after appearing in another As Ever video while picking produce from a garden.

For the clip, the Suits alum wore a blue-and-white striped button-down shirt tucked into high-waisted white trousers as she carried a basket filled with tomatoes, carrots, artichokes and several large apples.

The video prompted some social media users to question whether all of the produce had actually been harvested from Meghan's garden, while others focused on her outfit and questioned whether it was practical for gardening.

One person sarcastically wrote, "I wear white trousers and a crisp striped shirt in order to carry a basket of freshly delivered out-of-season fruit and veg around my garden. It gives me something to do."
