Sydney Sweeney recently stepped out in a casual outfit that channeled a more humble side of her as she stepped out to do some charity work.
The Euphoria actress is putting in some hands-on work to help those affected by the devastating wildfires in her hometown of Spokane, Washington. She was photographed volunteering alongside other community members as she helped provide food and support to wildfire victims, all while wearing a pair of stylish yet simple overalls, stripping down to a much simpler look than the glammed-up red carpet ensembles she’s worn over the last year. However, numerous internet users weren’t buying her charitable actions, still giving her grief following her American Eagle jeans campaign. Read more about her day of service below.

Sydney Sweeney Helps Washington Wildfire Victims In Denim Overalls
It looks like the blonde bombshell is feeling the urge to give back and participate in some philanthropic projects, as she was recently spotted helping residents in her hometown of Spokane, Washington, after the area was affected by wildfires.
On Wednesday, August 5th, Sydney returned to Spokane to lend a hand to those impacted by the wildfires that have damaged thousands of acres in the area. She, alongside her boyfriend, Scooter Braun, was photographed working with World Central Kitchen and Women and Children's Free Restaurant, as well as a local food bank, where she helped hand out free meals to people affected by the disaster and spent time with fellow volunteers.
For the charitable outing, the Housemaid star opted for a practical, casual look that was fitting for a day of volunteer work. She wore a pair of relaxed blue denim overalls layered over a simple, fitted white top, keeping the rest of her outfit understated and functional for getting work done. The actress completed the look with comfortable footwear and wore her blonde hair down and in loose waves, going for a much more humble look versus one of her usual glamorous Hollywood appearances.

Social Media Users React To Sydney's Charitable Day
While some people praised Sweeney for returning to her hometown and helping wildfire victims, others on social media were far less impressed. Videos and photos of the actress volunteering quickly sparked negative comments on various platforms, with some users accusing her of turning the charitable appearance into a publicity opportunity.
A lot of the criticism appeared to stem from the backlash she's continued to face over her controversial "good jeans" American Eagle campaign that was accused of being racist and insensitive. Some social-media users made it clear that her volunteer work had not changed their opinions of her, with the negative commercial having a lasting effect.
"No, this doesn't change my opinion of her," wrote a Facebook user. On Instagram, a user wrote that her work was a "nice gesture in a sea of bad press for being and doing fascist [things]."
"Sydney Sweeney: Let's use this super horrible fire in my hometown as a cute little publicity stunt," another user commented.
One user accused Sydney of using the day as a "20-minute photo op," as another wrote, "I mean, it's the bare minimum considering her privilege."
"Maybe now she'll understand how important helping others and community really is," commented a hopeful user.
