Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman have fans super excited for the upcoming sequel to their iconic 1990s film, Practical Magic, but are in hot water with some of them after they ended up looking ‘airbrushed’ and unrecognizable on one of the latest promotional posters.

The two famous actresses have been gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated sequel, as it’s been almost 30 years since the first was released, and they have individually been through a lot since then. Though there’s a lot of positive feedback and reception buzzing around the movie before it hits theaters this fall, some fans and other internet users are taken aback by one of the latest film posters that came out for it. After it hit social media, numerous users left comments about the two women looking too “airbrushed,” edited, and overall unrecognizable. Read more about the viral poster and what fans had to say about it below.

There are a lot of older films and television shows seemingly getting some kind of reboot or upgrade these days, and one that has a lot of people buzzing right now is the sequel to the 1998 Halloween-coded film, Practical Magic 2.

The first film starred Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, and other stars like Evan Rachel Wood, and followed the story of a pair of sisters born into a magical family who encounter a series of challenges, with a love story added to the mix. Over the years, the witchy movie became a Halloween classic, with thousands of people insisting on rewatching it once the fall season hits. Now, those fans have a lot to look forward to, as the follow-up film is finally arriving nearly 30 years later, slated to hit theaters on September 11th, 2026.

In addition to interviews and making appearances at conventions, the two leading ladies have been making strides to get people excited for the film, including posing for its official poster, which was shared on social media last week. Their faces are enlarged and can be seen looking out into the distance, with some candles in the background and a smaller graphic of two other cast members.

Fans Call Out The 'Airbrushing' On The 'Practical Magic 2' Movie Poster

One of the aspects of the upcoming fall-themed movie that fans and other internet users have been looking forward to is seeing how the two leading women have aged and changed over the decades since the first one. However, judging by the movie poster, it appears that they're purposefully being made to look younger.

After the poster went viral online, fans and other internet users began pointing out the excessive editing, airbrushing, and Photoshop on it, which made them feel that Sandra and Nicole's faces looked too altered to be believable. Though most movie posters go through their fair share of editing, numerous users felt the creators did too much.

"They did some practical magic 2 on that poster," joked a user.

"It's giving AI," wrote a user, as several others echoed the same sentiment.

"This is one of the worst posters I've ever seen," a user added, with another echoing, "[I] thought this was fanmade with AI."

A fan described the two actresses' faces as "airbrushed to heaven and back," to which one user added that it made the poster look "cheap."

"How did this get approved?" a user asked.

We'll be curious to see if the promotional team for the film releases any more posters, potentially keeping this feedback in mind, but for now, it seems safe to say that fans are not happy with what they're seeing.
