The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023

Gone are the days of using wire hangers from the dry cleaner. That’s almost unspeakable. Clothes hangers have come a long way and there are so many different types available in the market. Are these hangers really worth it? If you think so, how much are you willing to spend on hangers?

We have become all too familiar with Joy Mangano’s Huggable Hangers, which promise to keep your garment in place and leave behind no awkward creases. There are also “luxury hangers” (mainly for hanging suits) that cost upwards of $100 from certain companies. Of course, there are benefits to these fancy hangers. They truly do prevent garments from slipping, don’t leave “shoulder mountains,” and they retain their shape, meaning a heavy garment doesn’t cause it to bend.

On the other hand, there are people who say wire hangers are just fine. The only thing a wire hanger doesn’t do, according to Brian Johnson, director of education and analysis at the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute, is mimic the curved shape of a body. Another plus to wire hangers is that they cost nothing, besides your average dry cleaning bill.

I honestly think it comes down to personal preference. However, the question remains, how much would you pay for a clothes hanger?
