Elon Musk has long had people speculating that he’s undergone some kind of hair transplant operation, and a professional is doing a deep dive into what he might’ve done.
Dr. Gary Linkov, a plastic surgeon from New York City, addressed the buzz surrounding the Tesla founder’s hair, comparing pictures of him in his 20s and 30s to now. The doctor examined exactly how his hair has changed over the years and what procedures or treatments he might’ve undergone to get his head of hair to where it is now, even noticing what appears to be a transplant scar on one side of his head. Plastic Surgeon Examines Before-And-After Pictures Of Elon Musk's Hair
Despite being one of the richest men on the planet, the trillionaire has had his fair share of comments made on his appearance, more recently, his hair.
Though he seemingly has a full head of dark hair today, older pictures of him that recently went viral showed that he previously had lighter colored hair and sections where it was also lighter in thickness and texture. Elon has never publicly confirmed that he underwent a hair transplant. However, the claims remain popular, and he's been mocked online with references to his alleged 'hair plugs' after commenting on gender-affirming procedures.
In a video shared earlier this summer, Dr. Gary Linkov, a board-certified plastic surgeon out of New York City, closely examined the South African native's transformation. He took a look at the older photos, believing he started his hair journey by taking "FDA-approved treatments such as finasteride and minoxidil."
Then, his hair seemingly began filling out, but oh-so slightly, which led Dr. Linkov to gather that he did go through with a frontal hair transplant.
"It looks like he went through another hair transplant again with FUT," he described. "And you can see that from a profile view, there's clearly a sign of a scar kind of starting all the way up here at his frontotemporal angle and running down into the safe donor zone underneath his crown into the other side. There was also an interview he did on CBS that's really kind of showing that strip scar...I think he's had two FUT procedures after the second transplant. It looks like maybe it was around 2009 or so."

The video from the professional began generating comments on platforms like YouTube, with social media users reacting to the X owner's transformation over the years.
Others continued to poke fun at him for his appearance, with several users noting that if he did have any transplant, which many are convinced he did, it didn't necessarily improve his looks in any way, even though the doctor said he's now "working with a great head of hair" that has "amazing" results.
"He could grow his hair just an inch longer, and it would hide the scars better," responded a YouTube user.
"Pity he never got a soul transplant," wrote another.
"What's up with his hair? Looks rough for someone who thinks he's 'superior,'" added a user.
"His hair grew back out of pure curiosity to see what a trillion-dollar life would be like," joked another.
